About me
Originally from Pennsylvania, I relocated to Kansas City and began my journey as a graphic designer after graduating from Penn State with a degree in art. I was given an opportunity at the local PBS station, KCPT, to gain experience as an intern and was later hired as a member of the staff. I worked hard and grew through being assigned a diverse set of responsibilities and tasks — which eventually included the new visual identity for the company. My favorite thing about being a designer is the variety of subject matter I’ve been able to create around. From the science of wine to a British-themed brunch to violent crime on Kansas City’s east side, I’ve found it interesting to design for different projects with different tones. I also enjoy seeing a project come together from start to finish — working on the concept for the art, finalizing art direction and applying it to the pieces.
My secondary creative outlet is in the dance studio. It forces me to take a break, allowing for a fresh perspective. And similar to graphic design, it requires attention to detail and taking critique and applying it to become stronger.
On a lighter note, I love tacos, ice cream, cats, swimming, all things Disney and I currently can’t get enough Shark Tank. Although I love being a designer, my ultimate dream job is to be a Radio City Rockette. When I take vacation days, I’m often headed to a college football game.
If you’re interested in my work, freelance work or hearing more about my journey, I’d love to hear from you.
